The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program was created through an Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of Prince Edward Island. It allows the Province to recruit immigrants to meet its socio-economic and labour market needs.

Under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program, you may qualify under one of the following four categories:

• Immigrant Partner Category
• Immigrant Entrepreneur Category
• Immigrant Connections Category
• Skilled Worker Category

No, if an immigrant has an open application under review with the Canadian Government or another Provincial Nominee Program, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program will not accept an application from this immigrant. 

If an immigrant has closed their application that was under review with the Canadian Government or another Provincial Nominee Program, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program will accept an application for review from this immigrant providing the immigrant can provide documentation that the file is closed and the reason why the file was closed.

For skilled workers, the Province may require the applicant to make an exploratory visit to PEI for a pre-nomination interview and to familiarize themselves with the local culture, quality of life and employment opportunities.

Immigrant entrepreneurs and immigrant partners are required to make an exploratory visit to PEI to also assess the business climate and specific investment opportunities. The suggested length of stay is five business days and the mandatory length of stay is three business days. During the official interview, applicants will be asked to provide evidence of the length of stay.

• Immigrant Connections $250.00
• Immigrant Partner $2,500.00
• Immigrant Entrepreneur $2,500.00
